The F in perfect was clearly cast as an E but was "edited"

That "edit" leaves a lot of room for discussion. What is going on between the E and R? Looks like there was a gouge in the mold and glass filled in.
I have a lot of "typos in my hundreds of old jars with 16 different brands. I just enjoy having them.

I found this 1858 mason jar last time out dump digging ! I noticed the Lettering was weak but there no S in mason?€™s just glob of glass instead ! Any value?thankyou

The 1858 is the Mason Patent date. It is said that date is on all Mason jars. I just now discovered that is not true. I just discovered in my collection a Mason date of May 20 1870. Getting good pics of jars is tough. I can't really see your error because the background is too busy. I have so many error jars in my collection, I could fill two shelves. Take care of that jar and enjoy it.
