Got an early start before the rain was forecast at Lunchtime on Fan's Site. Managed just shy of 3 hours & the rain came as we had lunch in the car.
18 Scrappies (Cru'dad guessed 15 & I guessed 20)
2 broken Roman Fibula
Iron Age (Celtic) Fibula
Circa WWI Lovat's Scout Button

As we had a tough two hours in the rain last week we decided to drive & see a few farmers & check out the conditions of a few fields.
After driving around a bit we saw a break in the rain & decided to do another 1.5 hours on a random field that has never produced much other than modern junk.
Got a Spec Buckle
Decorated Tombac Button
Bits..
Lots of green waste.

Still an honorable showing Cru.
When you referred to green waste is that the crap that is loaded with garbage, like foil, park crap, recycled leaf litter?

The fields have been hit were starting to mirror a public park for trash targets. Made it a real challenge to for % of good/crap targets.
One of the worse was a pig farmer that got expired yogurt so the fields were a sea of little bits of balled up foil that had been consumed by the pigs.

They are pretty rare, not sure how many hundreds of blank ones you need to find but its high. The rarest, I think, are the ones with animals on them. I look forward to getting anything like this.

I agree Cru, decorated examples are definitely rare as far as Tombac buttons go. I can just image what a full coat of these must've looked like when new, they would have shined like silver buttons.
