Lovely day with a nice dry surface to walk on - nice not to have those really sticky boots.
Started on the edge of Fan's Site going into no-mans land & it really lived up to it as we didn't even get a dribble of Roman finds extending from the known scatter. After just over 2.5 hrs we had a few buttons, a Lead Token, mini cannonball & a 17th C buckle (One I need). OTWBTTC we crossed the Metal Working site & spent some time trying to find a few things we had missed to round off the morning session to 3 hrs. This paid off, as we had 2 scrappies, Celtic Fibula, & Roman Fibula Catchplate.
Whilst researching the Lead Token, I was surprised to find a connection with Jamestown:

It's pretty rare that you can ID a Lead Token, not had this one before.
After lunch we gridded 3 hours on the big grid, which is now a very long way from the Metal Working Site, but we still managed 9 Roman Coins. Not sure what this is telling us yet. Maybe a route in or farming activities.
(It doesn't look like typical settlement)
OTWBTTC Cru'dad got 1 more scrappy, taking us to 12 for the day.
