Hello Tnet fam,
I hope you’re all well. I retrieved this from an 1800’s permission. It looks like it’s had a square nail hammered through it possibly. I can’t make the name on the front out other than potentially ‘The’ on top and ‘Brand’ on bottom.
Any ideas what it may say? Is it a button?

Its one half of what we call poppers or snap fastener. (not a button as such but the same function)

Thank you 😊 Do you think it’s older or more 1900’s? I can’t find anything similar in my research, but I can’t see the middle word.

I would agree its a button or snap, with the fastener part worn away. Look how the item has turned green....similar to what an Indian head penny or 100 year old wheat penny will do ( copper ) so its at least that old. Good find
