Fenton GAR photo, and picture of buckle recovered

last summer hunting with my brother in Fenton I recoverd this GAR belt buckle. Tonight he emailed me this picture of the Fenton GAR. I love to think the buckle I found is in this picture. heres a link to the picture where you can zoom in real close.

The picture below was taken on 4 July 1892, in front of Col. Mann's house on Walnut Street. The house stood where the Library is now. These are the remnants of the original GAR in Fenton. A list of who is in the picture is as follows......

Very cool buckle and picture. :thumbsup: I love G.A.R. relics. I found a watch fob in the yard of a Civil War veteran about 10 years ago. It was from the 1891 G.A.R national encampment in Detroit Aug. 3-8. I bet a lot of the men in that picture were at that encampment.

It is really cool to imagine that that buckle probably did belong to one of those ornery looking fellas. :laughing7:
