New permission today went very well. I finally broke the 1900 mark and it was also my first IHC(1891). I also have what I believe is a bank token(?). Any help on ID'ing it would be greatly appreciated. A cool buckle and a few Lincolns. Just a little over 400 acres and some really cool old home sites. Better pics of the token coming soon. That said is it OK to use a toothbrush for cleaning? I know newbie question but love the patina and of course don't want to cause any harm.

Nice hunt. That chimney pic is awesome.
Old stone work is always nice to see. The chisel work on the keystone above the actual fireplace resembles the "Tree of life". It's also double sided. I didn't get a chance hunt that site yet. I'll let you know!

What a beautiful view! Sell me 5 acres so I can build a log home there!
It's awesome in every sense of the word. As I get older I grow to really appreciate the simple things in life. BTW that is the view from where I found the token. I was sitting there looking out imagining that this is the same way it was lost.

Holy cow ,a 'hard times' token, that is a spectacular find. The IHP is pretty awesome too. Congrats on your success! Regarding cleaning, I've wiped clean large cents before but I think the IHP looks to be good enough condition to for a light scrub. I wouldn't do it for the token though.

Those are some really nice finds, and that spot is beautiful. Now you can set your sights on breaking the 1800s mark. Congrats!

Thanks! I didn't even know what a hard times token was till this morning🤣(thanks underminer). I've already given the IH a light cleaning w/ water and soft toothbrush. I've done nothing to the token but the temptation is killing me. I think as the token dried overnight more detail can be seen.

Nice finds you made! Keep an eye out for arrowheads too, your in a good place!
I always do. I've only found to points in my life...both broken. I have a hand full of worked flint/chert but don't really know if they're real. I need to get them out and post pics. I'm sure you folks would know more about them.

I know the feeling; I like to try cleaning my coins too, but I've ruined many doing so. For the token, if it were me, I'd try olive oil or/ and Andre pencils. You could try a toothpick too. I've also had good luck with hydrogen peroxide and copper.

Thanks! I may have to take a trip to the east coast states to break that 1800 barrier. TN didn't have much european activity till after 1796 when it became a state. The land is incredible no doubt about it.

Thanks ET. It will certainly be a day I won't soon forget. I have to admit after not picking up the detector for 20 years it has been a great summer so far.
