Always nice to find something other than foil/pulltabs, I think some of these rings geared towards bikers are designed as noggin knockers for sure. Nice to find but I'd sure never wear one that large and heavy.

I was packing light, didn't even have or need a sand scoop, alls I had besides the detector was a pinpointer and 5 in 1 digging tool. Most of the sand is nearly unsiftable so a sand scoop would not have done much good, and when I do alot of swinging I like to rotate arms occasionally, which would be more difficult if I had to lug around a scoop. [I know some guys have difficulty or can't squat/bend so don't have the option to detect a beach without a scoop] Primarily swing right handed but have no problem switching to left when needed. I swept this area pretty good last fall and didn't expect to find much and didn't, besides the ring [which I am shocked I missed last fall] found just a few pulltabs, some foil a quarter and penny.
