I’ve been searching high and low for one of these… we went to our militia muster field yesterday that has just had the corn cut about a week ago and found the farmer deep discing the north side of the field, after he finished we went over to see what he kicked up. My buddy fast Eddy found a pretty nice matron and a lot of buttons, I was only finding buttons, wire and globs of melted stuff when I got a nice crisp 24 on my Nox 800 and out popped my first 2 cent piece dated 1865. Ive been wanting one of these since I started detecting back in 2017. It’s one of my favorite US coins, the weird thing is the bucket listers I’ve found prior to this. I’ve pulled up 2 Massachusetts coppers, Vermont copper, jersey copper, nova constellatio, military belt plate, Spanish Pistareen, multiple trimes and Spanish half Reales , flying eagles and at one point 2 years ago I dug 4 silver half’s ( 2 barber and 2 walkers) in 10 days. Anyway, I got it!!!!!! Now I just need to figure out my next “ must dig” bucket lister.

Well you certainly have ticked a few hard to get ones off the list before this one.
Congratulations on your latest one.

Maybe one of those gold disks can be added to this list.

It's funny how that works JD. You would think the 2-center would have been an easy find. But I have twice as many Liberty Caps than I do 2-cent pieces. Go Figure.

That's the fun of detecting, you start of with a bucket list, sooner or later, sometimes many years later you then tick them of, then you have to start scratching your head & adding the impossible to the list. Then you find the impossible & it all starts again...
