The areas you have access to detect, seem to be very productive. It leads me to believe the country of Mexico may have countless undercovered treasures just waiting to be found.

Your 1/4 copper real will be a Estado de Chihuahua or Departamento de Chihuahua coin depending of what is shown on the obverse. If the legend is not readable, then ID can be obtained by measuring the coins diameter. If 26mm, then is will show 'Estado'; otherwise, it will be of 24 mm in diameter and state 'Departamento'--and be more valuable.
You're in the right spot, keep swinging.
Don.......

You also have an 1860 1/4 copper real from the Estado de Chihuahua showing 'DE REAL' under the 1/4. The obverse of this coin (from the series 1860-1866) should show a seated Liberty whereas the coin described in my previous posting will show a standing Indian holding a bow and arrow. The governor of Chihuahua on January 20, 1860 ordered that the seated Liberty 1/4 reales coins be struck.

Morning Rebel

That thing is a dowsing device, one of my friend believe on dowsing. I do not belive on that, but is interesting observe How he use the device and his believes on it.
