So me and my buddy went to my favorite beach to detect this fine holiday weekend, the place was packed but my “ secret spot” is rocky so we did our thing. Anyway, first off we didn’t find much, lots of clad and the usual beach debris when all of a sudden, out of nowhere and without warning I get a deep 87 on my Deus 2. So I sez to myself, hmmmmm copper penny?? But it’s really deep, let’s look……..so I did, and what popped out you ask??!! A giant great seal ring from about 10” down right at the water line, it’s busted but it weighs a ton ( not really, prolly a 1/2 oz). I have dug a similar ring to this but not the same, so if anyone has a date range, by all means, interject.
so after admiring my new ring for a while, I go back to tectin’ and I get just about the same signal, 87-88-89-90 and deep, again right at the water line. Soooooo I put a couple scoops on my target and out pops a quarter, a silver quarter, a silver SLQ, What the f*** is that doing here?? Beach is pulled down and it’s a real pain to dig but I can’t wait until it really washes out, it’s gonna be crazy.
Anyway, that’s my story…HH
