I’m learning …in the Fall of 20 I planted only a couple that came up in 21
In the Fall of 21 I was more careful and thankfully so far so good a lot better
Thanks to the members here who have given me advice

Fine job, Bill. Love me some garlic.
Thank You
I was so surprised to see how it looked today.
We cut a piece and added it to sauce on the stove now
Take care

Planted hard neck garlic last November and cut the scapes several days ago.Went out in the garden today I thought let’s see how they look.
I shoveled up two cloves and was so happy to see good results.
Thanks for looking
good job-some friends of mine pickle the unopened blooms-a tasty edible garnish to a bloody mary-also i like to cook with the immature plants almost like green onions

Nice tight looking bulb, let the rest mature now.
When the leaves start to die/brown up then they're ready for harvesting.

Thank you for sharing your advice.helping me with the garlic.
On some plants now the top leader is starting to turn brown maybe three- four inches from the tip and maybe one lower one near the ground.can I continue to water the plants…….
Bill has had more experience than me Trav. I'm sure of it.

The trick is to let the plants begin to die back, but harvest before all the leaves have turned brown. The top-most, green leaves extend down, into the soil, around each garlic bulb. When the lower two thirds of leaves have dried up and turned brown, the garlic bulbs will be at their best.

So keep watering still.
