On our way over to the site where I found the NJ copper, the kid and I stopped at a house I tried getting permission from last week. Today the owner was home and we got a yes.
We found some wheats then the kid finds his first silver for the year, a 37-D merc. He also found an eagle button he left on the hood of the jeep when we left, gone now.
Next I found my first silver, a dateless SLQ. Before I dug my first silver I dug a totally unexpected 3 ringer, a bonus for the day.
Next and back to back we both dug another silver. The kid a 1940 Washington and myself a 1945 merc.
We left there and headed to the jersey copper property. All I got there were more wheats, 75 dog tag, and an old cufflink.
The kid made out better finding a toasted LC, wheats, and 4 Indians. The kid got a wheat/ Indian spill finding 9 wheats and 2 Indians.
Total for wheats was 11 me, 22 for the kid. That spill really helped his count. Lol

Dang, deershed.........that was one heck of a day!! A day detecting with your son and lots of keepers ........nothing better than that!!

Nice start to 2017....:icon_thumright:

Killer 1st 2017 hunt! Love the 3 ringer!

Looks like some great finds. Way to start the year.

Very well done...a three ringer and a SLQ... that's a nice combo... with Indians and a merc on the side.

Congrats to you and the boy on a strong start to 2017!

Nice way to start the year. I love finding SLQ's even if they are worn.

Nice finds deershed. You got the "beginning" of a collection - here are a few!

I think I've got a post or two in that thread. Lol I think what oddcoins is doing is Awesome!!
Thanks for the link though, I don't think my 1975 tag has a chance at being the oldest from Adams country. My personal oldest tag is from Washington county Maryland and from 1922. Love finding old dog tags.

Nice way to start the year. I love finding SLQ's even if they are worn.

I agree with finding the SLQ's, I'll take them with or with out a date. When they come out worn down it gives the coin character.
Two years ago a dateless SLQ was one of my first silvers for the year.

Congratulations on the two silvers and relic finds! :occasion14:
