Had to stay 10 days at home after being infected with Covid. Nothing too serious. Luckily.
We had nice sunny weather and the soil was dry on top and wet underneath. Did most of the time chatting with walkers....
Got a nice 50Pfennig, some roman scrappies, bronze nail and a weird early Fibula. We call them "Knickfibel", these are based on late iron age brooches and date 10-50 AD. Looks like the "kink" which gave the name was straightened and the round thicker part was filed flat. Never seen before.

I like your finds! The 50 pfennig is in great shape, as you say. The older ones are really old, especially by North American standards.

What a great hunt! That 50 penning was a nice chunk of change when it was lost.

Westfront,

Looks like you had a productive outing. Good to hear Covid didn’t hit you too hard. Definitely an interesting fibula, nice save. Also, like the 50 pfennig, silver is always nice to find. Good luck with your hunts. Walt
