I recently bought a Deus and finally was able to take it out for a spin. Great design, comfortable and wireless. All great features but we all know what’s really important. What will it get out of the dirt? I decided to take it to a couple of sites that I’ve beat to death to give it a proper test. I was pretty blown away that my first couple of times out with it I pulled a lot of keepers that I had previously missed. Nothing earth shattering but knowing some of the sites I have this certainly is very exciting and if it gets this many targets from the rest of my sites I’m guessing there will be some nice keepers in the future. Here’s the stuff I’ve missed after beating these spots to death. I’m extremely impressed!

Great finds bud. It really is an amazing machine and I suspect you will make plenty of finds at the rest or your sites.

For sure Pep. I was like “Jesus man how the hell did I miss all of this.” It’s not like they’re all tiny targets either. I will say the Deus with the 11” coil is much deeper than I expected. That little tankard kid was at least 11” deep.

I'm sure the man in the latex suit has been doing the same :icon_scratch: on how he missed so many as well. :)

Try putting that thing in Deus Fast and work real slow through some trashy areas. You'll be amazed what it will pick up.

I did this the other day at a colonial site I've pounded over the last year and found 12 buttons

Aww how cute, two men with sweet little inside jokes.

Says the guy snuggled up to 2 dudes in a small dirty hole this past weekend lol

I would agree with you Ahab8. I bought an XP Deus back in February, and have been very happy with its performance. I love my AT-Pro, but its seen very little action since the Deus moved into the neighborhood. Great finds, as per usual!

So glad you're swinging that thing now man. You're going to kill it this year with it. What's wrong with 3 dudes spending the weekend in a dirt hole!?

Good Luck Abe. The Deus is a killer machine, especially for target separation. I suspect that you'll come up with some great finds at some of your older sites. A word of advice - the bottom of the interface has a small hole. Purchase a small lanyard/wrist wrap, secure it through the hole on the interface and around the upper assembly/arm rest. The interface doesn't come off easily, but if you ever trip in the brush, which happens on occasion when searching in the woods, the interface can detach. You won't notice it because the headphones are wireless I almost lost my interface in such a situation, and I know someone who lost their unit and never found it. :dontknow: The rest should all be good. It's a great machine so make some great recoveries and maybe you can convert Bill D. to the Deus. He is still a hold-out.

Nice digs! Love the LC and the eagle button! Seems like the Deus is tried and true. Good luck out there!

FYI if the control box pops off, and it can, you replace the piece that holds it inexpensively. I just replaced mine proactively. One screw holds it securely on. What happens is the plastic wears down with time and the little unit can "pop" off.
