First outing 2007 nets Silver & Gold + "Smart Find by DFX".
Yesterday afternoon the wind came up, 40 mph plus. It warmed up from 24 degrees to 62 degrees in 2 hours & the sun came out. Grabbed the DFX & hit a demo site in an older city park. I have hit som nice older silver there before. The ground was still frozen but was diggable where the demo work was done. First were pull tabs & can fodder, then up comes a neckless. Light little Gold chain in knots but all intact & Sterling emblem " FRIENDS". Not an expensive one, but still first S&G for the year. Hit some clad, 6 cents, two nickles & a dime. It was getting dark & as I headed to the truck I was scanning fast about a foot out from a sidewalk. Got a insistantantly strong 50 cent signal at 2 inches. I thought, yea, right. I dug it anyway & it was wrong as I suspected. It was two clad quarters stuck together with a dime in the same hole. Maybe the DFX was smarter then me afterall, but it was 60 cents, not 50. It was nice just to get out after seven months off from detecting. The finds weren't worth the effort of posting pix.
