Hey everyone,

Been awhile since I last posted. About 4 or 5 weeks ago when I found the diamond ring is when I last posted. I have been really busy working.

I haven't even had alot of net time. Or time to hunt either. But I've been squeazing a few hrs in here and there when ever I can. I had more days to hunt.

But I've found myself on those days just to beat up from work to go out and do it like I do. I hunt hard and walk far. So if I'm not up for it I just relax.

Makes me mad but I am younge so time I have. Now back to how I found everything. Bare with me though. I just got a digital camera and I am not a pro on it yet.

The scanner I can use well. But the camera is gonna take me some more time. I gave you all a 50/50 ratio of pics. Half scanned half digital cam.

It would be hard to say were I got everything. So I'll tell you all what I've been doing. I've been going around as of lately to old foundation sites I've been seeing around.

I don't have pics of all the foundations. But I found a really old site. Actually a town abandoned. I found over 30 different foundations in one set of woods.

2 Bad parts were this. Bums were actually living in them. We saw one while we were detecting. Second is there is more garbage there than any site I've ever hunted.

We were only able to pull out one shield nickle and a few wheats. I found though a really nice old blue bottle from the 1800's. I was pretty happy about it. Lots of bottles in this area. I'm thinking about raking out a few foundations at a time and then hitting them. I know there has to be some seated coins.

I've been mostly just picking up a few old coins here and there at various sites. Hit a few old houses that gave me a few mercs. One was actually folded in half. I bent it back out.

Feel free to ask me any questions that you have about the finds. I'll list some dates and totals at the end here.

Wheats 14
Indians 2 1905 and a 1903
1 old W.F M.C 5 cent market token
3 mercs 1918 1944 and a bent 1936
1 1943 P war nickle
1 1899 V- Nickle

Hope you all like the pics and time spent on it.

HH Jeremy

Re: First Post Since The Diamond. 15 Pictures To View.

Looks like the Mon 'n 'at (only a Pittsburgher understands). One obvious treasure is that Belgian block making up the wall - that's worth some coin. Keep at it.

Re: First Post Since The Diamond. 15 Pictures To View.

Very cool pics and finds Jer! Sure wish you could hunt full time, since you always come up with the best sites!

Re: First Post Since The Diamond. 15 Pictures To View.

Thanks alot everyone.

I've been wanting to get this stuff up awhile ago. But it just kept accumulating. I guess that happens when you go back to work full time.

Then come home to my two younge boys. I also found out last week that I am having my 3rd son. Another boy I got coming soon.

Thanks for the welcome back Jeff. I'm still around every day to check in. I just haven't had alot of time to post and reply.

Half dime it was the Mon. Sure I understand you. I live in Pittsburgh.

Gyps, I wish I could to. I was hunting alot more than I am now before. I'll never quit. I just need to make good finds on short outings.

It's tough but I am always on the look out. One advantage to my work is I am on the rd 4 hrs a day. Si I am getting alot of chances to learn new area's.

About 25 miles out from my home. But I am finding there is still a ton of areas to be hunted out there. I just have my city hit well. So it's a good sign for the future.

Thanks again,

Jeremy

Re: First Post Since The Diamond. 15 Pictures To View.

Here is another pic guys of a old button that is hard to see in the group shot.

I am trying to master this camera over night. Seems to be good. I looked at alot of them before buying. And I thought this one was the best out of them in that price range.

It's a Sony cybershot 6.0 mega pixel 3 X zoom and has a 2.4 screen. Any of you guys have this model. And would like to share a few tips with me.

I'd appreciate any tips. Hope you all like the shot of the button. If you know what it is feel free to shed a little light upon it. It's a large button.

Excellent as usual! Monty

Jere - Excellent displays. You obviously have a great spot to hunt. I love looking at these finds. Nice pictures of your hunting area as well. Please keep sending them in.

Nice finds Jeremy. Looks like a decent amount of old coins and lots of super relics. ;D I know what you mean about the Bums. Nate and I hit one site that was like that. Found a nice old token and a harness bell but it was very difficult to hunt. Really need a 5" coil.

Congratulations on #3. My wife and I stopped at 2.

I had a great week last week picking up 3 firsts - V Nickel, Seated Dime and Barber Quarter. All at different sites.

Bob

Jer, Nice write up. The family time is the most important. Maybe when the boys are older they can hunt with you.

Nice finds Jer

the button looks like a Michigan state seal button.
