Its called smarts... i can tell you more than one story where a rare coin was found and had it not been for the sand rub scratches or the leshe strike they would have paid for a brand new high end detector... or in one case a car... but instead its ruined.

And you obviously are too new or dont know there are LINCOLN cents worth 100k and more... let alone rare dates in ANY condition other than newly ruined ones... Mercs AND rosies, heh
Im OBVIOUSLY new?
Please tell me how new to diggin holes i may be?

O.P, ....i jusst happened to dig my very best 1835 capped half dime this yr as well.. love finding the half dimes .. i wouldve rather it be early 1820s..lol..but they are my favorite series..and i didnt squirt mine either...just looked at the date and put it in a safe place to be washed at home

Anything that feels or looks like it might be something good... i resist that initial urge... I don't want the possibility of screwing it up.
Exactly ...decades dealing in coins and ya know which ones need the tlc...

Shaking my head... Detector Moe has an incredible find... and instead everyone wants to argue about him rubbing the coin! Wow...

Incredible find sir thank you for posting... use this posts to inspire yourself...not to argue like broads!
? ? ?

No ones arguing... but sounds like you want to start one.

Well if you laugh at people who are careful with certain finds... you are either new or.......... heh

A realist....
and after seeing say 1964 date on a rosie , it's funny that they squirt it .. as if they are scared it may lose value ....
Don't make it sound like my first comment didn't clarify common finds..
I'm as careful as the next guy when it comes to something possibly valuable .. you'd probably think I just started digging today if you seen how all my silvers are loosely thrown in jars ...(minus the ones that worthy of plastic) yep, seateds barbers , rosies, mercs, washingtons all together like one big happy family all scraping and rubbing together..

That coin is magnificent- too bad for the corrosion, but the detail is incredible! Congrats for all the other great finds as well..

I would say more on this... but what's the point ?... and not like it will any difference / matter anyway.

For obviously... my words have fallen short... to what now appears to be multiple people.
