Decided to pull the trigger and buy the new XP Deus II. I was concerned about the "learning curve" but was surprised as to how "intuitive" the menu and controls really are. One of the things we appreciated and looked for in our equipment and processes were that could you just hand it to someone who has a little knowledge and they can figure it out quickly. That Is how I felt playing with the menu and settings on the Deus. I felt it was intuitive and not as intimidating as I thought it might be. The nice thing is too that there are so many good videos out there on the Deus (Calabash Digger, Gigmaster, Mental Metal, xpmetal detectors, ect to name a few..) that you can pretty much set it up before leaving the house (thanks!) After input from a couple buddies (Gigmaster and Denny) I tried out some of the settings that Calabash Digger uses in Beach Sensitive and it worked like a charm! Very little chatter, worked great in the wash and the damp and dry sand, No issues at all.

A great confidence builder in a new machine in that I was able to pull 6 rings in two hunts! One 10K band, one nice silver Pandora ring and 4 junkers. Also in the mix was a silver top "grill" (why? lol) and several junk hoop earrings. Not much change showing up in with the fresh drops but soon enough I guess. Including some pictures of the new set up. Bought the Anderson straight shaft and a deus locking piece for the control box. Drilled a hole top and bottom, inserted small rubber grommets and ran wire through the shaft. Figure I will keep it like this for my water rig and just use the stock shaft for land hunts. Dont wanna keep messing with the wire. Gigmaster also came up with a cool set up for his Deus that is working well for him. (new video out on it now). Good luck all!

Whites DFX, Notka Makro Simplex. Folks the price don’t mean everything, the question is are you willing to put in the time to learn the machine, experience will pay off I guarantee it.

Great, it’s not if it’s a good machine I mean nothing else challenges it currently, only 3 companies really. the price is still expensive for some, can you justify that to the finds that your other machines had, thankyou

Well done on the first few hunts. Good review also.
Wouldn't it be great if they integrated the wire in the shaft with a quick connection on the ends that were waterproof.
Like on how you have set up yours.
