Wow,
Are we ever tired. A six hour hunt at what I think is a virgin site.
The site is now a park, but in the late 1800's it was a long row of boarding houses for railroad and factory workers. It sets along side the railroad and is about 100' deep and 1000' long. The park is not used very much now, so no one ever gives it much attention.
We only worked a small area and came away with whats in the picture, along with a ton of clad coins which are in the tumbler getting cleaned and a bucket full of iron, copper, and other assorted items.
The motor cycle is my favorite, even without handlebars, my wife found it.
The thimble was almost flat. Did the best I could on fixing it.
The wheats are 1914, 1918, 1939, 1940, 1943, 1950, 1951.
The barber dime is 1907 and my first one ever. I could not believe my eyes when it fell out in the hole.
The mercs. are 1942, 1943, 1944.
The Roosevelt dime is 1964.
The bullet is a 38 caliber.
We will be visiting this site many more times just to go over it one time. It's going to take a great deal of work to clean it up so we can get down to the good stuff.
