Can’t remember if I’ve shared this point on here or not. It’s a pf of my pops from back in the day. From the Flint River near Albany, Georgia. I’ve seen a-lot of river stained points, and I gotta say, this one just looks and feels much much older than what type it looks like. Savannah River (3,000 - 5,000 B.P.) is my guess?
Some disagree on calling it a Savannah River but if you look in the last pic, you can see where the base was once convex, but broke sometime during or probably after use. Even if it was maybe a Pickwick or Kirk, which is only 1,000 - 3,000 years older.. it just seems like it’s older to me. Older than early archaic even. Maybe it’s spent its entire 6,000 or so years of life in the river and has some serious water wear. Idk I’m just blabbing on at this point lol. Enjoy.
