Found a really old button

I found this button at a yard sale the other day, I wish I was the one that dug it up but I wasn't. Either way I'm glad to own it.
If I could help get some info on it I'd really appreciate it. The guy told me he found it at a very old site

Looks like a late 18th century, decorative civilian flat button... The design on it is quite amazing...
