Hey everyone! What a weekend! For the past 2 days, me and my dad have done nothing except chase the recently restored Southern Railway #630 steam locomotive on 3 excursions each day! It has been a blast and not only do I have many wonderful memories, but I also have a cool piece of railroad history. While trying to find a place next to the mainline to get a nice shot of her at trackspeed (Which I did. Check out photo below. Best one!) I was, no shocker, looking on the ground for insulators. Unfortunately, I didn't find any. I found something better. After #630 came by and I got my shot (Yes!) I went down in the small gully by the tracks and pulled up the complete top to an insulator pole with the insulators still on them! Unfortunately, the insulators were plastic and they, as well as the pole, were infested with ants! The pole is here, sprayed with Raid. After the ants die, we'll clean up the pole, replace the "fake" insulators with glass ones I've found and set it up in my train room! I'll have a pic of it soon, but here's my perfect shot once in a lifetime shot of #630 in all her beauty, taken with my phone, trackside. Enjoy and God bless!
