I am going through some iron finds to get ready to clean and treat them and came across this item. I found two of these while detecting for Civil War relics on a farm adjoining Chickamauga Battlefield. I am fairly certain they are reasonably modern but no idea what they are. I cannot see how they would work on a piece of farm equipment. They were both maybe 4-6" deep on a hill side. The land has been a horse ranch for some time, so doubt land was plowed in last 0 years or so. They are non-ferrous. Anybody got an idea? If not, they go into my mystery plastic tub. Thanks for any thoughts.

Looks like a belt roller for a PTO belt driven something. Like a cordwood saw or thresher. Something that turned fast (as it is small diameter). 7" is a fairly standard belt width.

That makes perfect sense to me. Looks like it. Thanks a ton. We will see what a few others have to say.

Thank you, Charlie P. from NY. I am 100% sure you nailed it and you did so quickly. I am not for sure what tractor it is from but definitely a belt pulley. You must be a farm boy. Have a great day.

I futz around keeping this beast running with pasture & trail mowing, wood-hauling and shagging the occasional deer off the back hill. 1956 Ford 640.
