Found: early 1800s liquor stand with decanters

Needs some cleanup and one decanter was missing, but my research places this silver plated decanter stand to the early 1800's. Price paid $8.

Nice find, how did you date it? Is there a useful site? I'm coming across stuff like that and would like to date them. I would have looked at it and thought early to mid 1900s and missed out haha

The style for one. Lockable silver plated Tantalus were made starting 1851, wooden ones were popular about a decade after that. The glass is very old, pre pressed glass. The decanter style with the 3 rings is also from that period.

Stoppers were missing unfortunately. I think when I clean it up this will be kept and displayed.

you sure about that date? I was thinking more late 1800s to early 1900s. Can you take close ups of the glass? It does actually look like pressed or moulded glass to me from the pics provided but its hard to tell. Doesn't look crisp enough to be carved for one.

Decanters are heavy but have mineralization from the local water. The rings were added after the pieces were made which I was told is indicative of the correct way they would have been made in that period. I have a lot of EAPG and brilliant Era cut glass, this is older flint glass I am almost 100% sure.
