It’s hard to identify without scale. Hat pins and jacket pins in the period were similar to this.

went back found a second one close by identical... there is steady history after the civil war relics that come out of this area, it definitely does not have to be from war at all..

went back found a second one close by identical... there is steady history after the civil war relics that come out of this area, it definitely does not have to be from war at all..
Merc for scale both together, they are lead and it had the white patina so my mind went to 3 ringers I dig there, they dont have to be civil war tho

Maybe not CW, but they've been in the ground for a while. Are they pewter with an iron spike sticking out?

My first thought was "tuning peg" from a banjo or similar stringed instrument. With two found, not so sure. What are the odds of that...?

Could they be some kind of very old cork topper? You'd stick them into a cork and it would look fancy and make it easier to pull the cork out when needed.
