Found these this past weekend...need help identifying

Anyone have any ideas Thsy both seem like they're made out of copper. The smaller one says "Taytons" on it but the bigger one says nothing but does have a small amount of white paint on it. I was able to get the smaller one open but it only had a brownish yuck in it...almost looked like old tobacco. The bigger one looks like it MIGHT open but I'm afraid to try as I don't want to damage it. Any help would be appreciated! (my guess is maybe lipstick tube)

Good guess! Tayton's lipstick and other cosmetics were sold by Woolworth's.

Not sure about the date, but Tayton's brand cosmetics appear in magazine advertisements from 1937.

Thanks PBK! I just knew that you'd be the one to identify this for me! It's just an old cosmetic tube but to me it's a treasure! THAT'S one of the things I love about this hobby, how something as common as an old lipstick tube can become a treasure...that and the fact that you just never know when you're out there detecting what you'll find. Metal detecting rules!
