Found Two More Large Cents (Oldest Coin Yet, Again!)

Went back to the spot where I found the 1840s Large Cent a couple weeks ago. I only had about an hour but still made some good finds. The Large cents are dated 1842 and 18?. The unknown date Large Cent is a Coronet Head which puts it before 1840. I also found a rose head nail which surprised me since the earliest settlers in this area arrived in the 1830s. I also found a brass thing that I am not sure what it is (tensioner?). It has threaded holes on each end and is the second one I have found here.

Yes, the thread devise is a tensioner for fence or gates. I have them on two large gates I put up on my property about 25 years ago. Braided cable with loops fit into hooked ends that thread into the tensioners and you turn it one way to tight and the opposite way to loosen.

Thank you for your help. I thought I had seen them somewhere before but couldn't remember what they were used for.
