was the Watch a "Ticker ? "

I believe the Post offices have a special Employee
who's job is to listen to packages all day.

Perhaps they heard it ticking & the Post office went on Lockdown
and called the bomb squad.
& they blew it up & shipped him off to the
hoosegow. no questions asked
