Hi all,
I am Wondering if someone has an idea what this might be?
I am leaning towards it being a FRIED modern quarter, but really can't find any references that match up to the tails side design.
It is a fraction smaller than a US quarter, so not sure if this is a token or not.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!

Some nasty soil that quarter was in for sure. Closest I've found were in horse pens. Horse urine damn near ate one completely as it is smaller in diameter than a nickel now.

Scrape an edge to see if it's clad, brass, or silver. I haven't seen a token with a reeded edge, but, there are so many tokens, there could be some.

Definately a clad quarter per my own experience digging up really corroded clad quarters. I can clearly see the clad layers from the reeded edge pic.

I'm with you, It's probably just a nasty clad quarter. Still curious what the design is then on the tails side? I can't seem to find a match.
Thanks guys
