Posting for a friend--thought maybe someone could help with variety. It's tough to see, but I see sort of a scalloped edge pattern, not just the usual dots.

Looks like GWI13 on this site: George Washington Inaugural Buttons

This baby is toasted! Found last weekend in Belair, MD. Just a couple inches with an AT Pro + Tornado coil.

Thanks for the look, and congratulations to my good friend Andy!

HH,
Brad

Awesome find !

Certainly looks like a chicken hawk. Congrats to your buddy!!

Congratulate your friend for me! :occasion14:

Congrats to your friend Andy. I'm thinking thats either the GWI 13 or the GWI 24. doesn't look like the traditional scalloped pattern. I tihnk you're probably right with the GWI 13.

Hi DFW_THer; I believe it is a true GWI Button. The differences here are that the Scalloped Edge Pattern is different from the one shown in the Link posted above. The picture of the one on the Link shows that the lines between each Scallop are straight and there are 3 lines between each dot. The Pattern I see in your picture under magnification shows that the Lines form a type of broken V Pattern between each Scallop especially at the 10:00 Position & the 4:00 - 5:00 Positions. These V Lines may also actually be 2 separate Scallop Pattern Lines.
The biggest similarity I see under magnification is the Sun Burst Rays above the Eagles head in the Link picture shows a Ray Burst Pattern eminating from the Sun. If you look at your picture where the Ray Burst Pattern would be above the Eagles Head would be you DEFINITELY see the same Ray Burst Pattern eminating from the where the Sun would be especially at the 9:00 - 10:00 Central Positions. NOW: the thing is that you just need to match the Edge Pattern with the correct GWI Button and then you will know exactly which Button it is. Congratulations on a great find. Definitely a Bucket Lister for me. Way to go. I'll try to find the matching Edge Pattern for you ok. PEACE:RONB :leprechaun-hat:

PS: After some research I hereby must concur with Evolutions evaluation of your GWI Button as being a GWI 13 Button. The GWI Button shown on the Links picture is the GWI 24 Button. The GWI 13 Button much more closely resembles your friends GWI Button. The reason for any dissimilarities regarding the Scalloped Edge Pattern Lines is that the GWI 13 Button was in fact an earlier version of the GWI 24 Button and that the Scalloped Edge Pattern Lines are slightly different due to Robert Scot having made several similar but not Exact Dies for the GWI 13 Button. That is why it is Listed earlier than the GWI 24 Button although they are basically the same Design
Again Congratulations. :leprechaun-hat:
