Please help:

This object, in my humble opinion, has been molten and at some point sent airborne until it landed on an early bird-like creature. This occurs to me because of the flame-like pattern on its top and the impressions in its bottom. To my mind's eye it appears as if the feather like impressions include scales that appear as the uniform but not quite round impressions seen in some of the close-up photos made with a magnifying app.

This object can be subjected to a propane torch and it does not retain heat very much at all. The length of time it has been placed under such heat would burn the hand if it were any other metal yet this object barely feels warmed.

The tests were performed at the Jewelry Exchange in Dalton, Georgia by the owner of said jewelry store with him offering eighty-five hundred dollars on the spot stating that he wanted it more for the rarity of the object than the 117 grams +/- of the gold makes up the majority of material present. The owner subsequently called day after day until his offer was in excess of twelve thousand five hundred dollars whereas he was told that the object was no longer available and to please stop calling trying to buy it.

I feel by now I will have either lost your attention entirely or I have successfully satisfied your curiosity as to whether I'm legit in what I am proposing that this object in my possession may actually be.

Again, I want to thank you for any considerations and I beg of you if you do not believe what I am proposing this object may be that you will at least share this conversation and the photos to others that you may deem helpful in identifying or disproving what I say or that may otherwise be in need if a good laugh.

Me too... I'm still researching but haven't taken to a place that I can get the certification to satisfy my own mind and others.
I still own it and have acquired another specimen found within a few feet of the first one.

p.s. taking pictures just now with flash and early morning light resulted in the pictures I attach here...I almost threw up....wow... Just....omg wow... What is this?

Very interesting! Kinda looks like a sausage patty from McDonald's, though, doesn't it? Well, you said you needed a good laugh! It's a piece worth researching more. What have you learned since you decided to keep it? Thanks,

Maybe you could check with someone at Georgia Northwestern Technical College or Dalton State College. Someone might have the perfect machine/device to analyze it!

OK! Why haven,t you taken it somewhere to have it certified? Or at minimum an educated guess as to it,s composition? Your latest specimen is no more enlightening than the first,just a rock until you obtain some proof it,s not just a rock. Is it worth 12,500 too? C,mon man! You can do better than that.

It looks like copper with some impurities from the home made smelting job that someone did. Possibly stole the copper and trying methods to disguise it to sell.
The other fuzzy pics posted looks like copper slag or some kind of slag. I have a friend that lives near Dalton. If you do not mind, i will help you by having him go by the Jewelry Exchange and see if he can help you get this sorted and closure. I have not asked him yet but I will. He may still be in Africa.
Easy test is to do specific gravity. I think this was requested some time back. That would settle it.

I have seen that texture before? Pewter?
or it is just looks like a clay/ceramic hamburger patti from a child artist?

SCIENTISTS in China have learnt how to turn cheap copper into “gold” – and it could have a significant impact on the price of precious metals.

The Chinese research team managed to turn cheap copper metal into a new material almost identical in composition to gold using jets of hot, electronically charged argon gas.

So lets deal with the facts.
As it will be easy enough to contact the owner and ask him why the high value?
Ask the owner if this even took place?
Ask the owner if it was tested.
Ask the owner if he minds his place of business is being referred to in the post?

As a prior owner of a business that dealt with metal (semi precious)
If my company was referred to as this one was in offering a high value-border lining on harassment I would question the validity of such claims.

So lets just do the simple litmus test-contact the source of this amazing offer.

According to the OP he was offered 12,500.00 on the spot at his local jewelers. He turned that down and has been speculating ever since on what it is without ever having any reliable tests done to determine what in fact it is. Now he,s discovered another rock that almost made him faint away and throw up as he perused it.Again without any reliable test to determine what would cause such a reaction.
