:hello:

I have had the XP Goldmaxx now for three years :P and even though it.s given me some really Great finds, I'm slowly going off it :-\
It seems to me that it has a blind side, I'll try and explain. On Saturday I was out hunting, I always look down at the field in the hope of maybe seeing a Flint or something :) well I noticed a huge Pewter button that I know would have been in the range of the search head, yet it didn't pick it up :dontknow:
This is not the first time this has happened :o my detecting partner Michael also found a Roman coin right were I had been :icon_scratch: I know sometimes this happens, but it's happening to regular for my liking and his find rate for coins is way higher than mine.
I also have noticed that signals have been lost after I have dug :icon_scratch: and no matter how I search the area and hole I can't find what made the signal :dontknow: might be time for a change :dontknow:
Is there anybody out there that might have any similar problems :help: I would like to know if you have :sign13:

Only every time I go with Crusader, but he has an XP too :icon_scratch:

I think the settings help, but I couldn't get on with them the other day :-\

Not worried about the settings :P because I only ever use the same one :) but I'm wondering if the cordless headphones have anything to do with it :dontknow:

Oh no...don't say that :(

You still have the pewter button so just do a few tests. Either it was being masked in some way or there's a problem with your detector.
One of the leading distributors for XP commented when the build quality/reliability of the T2 was questioned that he had had more returns for the Power than the T2 and F75.

I can't see how you use the same settings for all sites. Its got to be causing performance loss.

HI Brian...thanks for the reply, the reason I use the same settings is that I don't regard the XP as a deep detector, and I always hunt ploughed land so I only need one setting, I have heard outhers going on about different settings for the XP but none do as well as I do with mine. I know there is a slight time delay with the signal to the headphone and don't know if this could be my problem. As for the button I checked the target in the field and there was no problem of masking, but I know the coil must have passed real close to it, as I saw it lying there, it doesn't knock out coke like it's suppose to either, although it's very easy to no whats coke, and whats not.

I tried the Power but kept my old Mk1 Goldmaxx (re chipped) as I could accept all iron with it to gain more depth but tell by the audio what was worth digging or not. I also didn't like the mode that enabled the rejection of coke that was introduced on the Power.
Still have my Mk 1 but where depth is needed ie pasture, prefer to use a T2 or Nautilus.
