So ive been detecting a forgotten farm field. Theres very little trash and 80% of everything that comes out is old. Toe taps, shoe buckle parts, a three ringer, KG2s, a half cent, 1880 canadian dime, 1859 canadian largie are examples of what ive found in this field so far. On sunday i got out there again with a couple friends. I also broke my phone sunday so thats why the late post. My first find was a piece of a toe tap, then a watch winding key. And then i got a jumpy +10 to +30 on my mxt. Didnt think much of it due to the jumpy lower vdi signals being decent targets. The field is overgrown with about 6 inches of grass and other plant stubble so good targets usually have jumpy vdis. One of my friends was near by so i had him go over it with his vx3 and he confirmed the signal. I dug it out and i finally got it in my palm. Dirt covering the shank and just enough of the back that i thought i was holding a hammered gold coin. I brushed the dirt away and it was a button. With a shine only real gold can produce. Flipped it over and found a very ornate front. Must be a very old button. Theres some kind of markings on the back. Not sure what they are and “gold button” isnt really giving me any results on google. If yall have any ideas let me know.

We spent another hour and a half there without finding anything else notable and moved on. Which is when i dropped my phone in a parking lot and smashed the screen. Bittersweet day. Old gold button but broken phone.

I guess things even out in the end. Thanks for checking it out and Happy Hunting!

Sweet find, nicely done indeed! (Your other finds are worthy of recognition as well.)

All the best,

I have seen that type of Hallmark before. I want to say Egyptian too but there is something more to it; can't quite put my finger on it...
