Gold item found today-can you ID?

I found this item today in a wooded area of a local park. The park is a century old. It looks like gold to me but probably just plated, not solid, gold. The penny is for size comparison.
Anyone recognize what it might be?
Also found some clad coins and a bunch of junk.

Think it is more like brass or bronze but none the less it is an interesting piece. Good luck and keep at it.
