Still finding nice specimens and a lot of small pieces of gold.
Banner vote #2 from me. Your on to something incredible there. Don’t give up if the finds slow down. You have a pocket mine there. Any chance getting a better picture so we can zoom in and see the gold?

Cleaning specimens' soaking in water and a lite brushing this is my job lol. The muriatic acid is hard to flush it's deep into the cracks soak and flush repeat until clear or the host rock will turn color.

Is your son getting a little more comfortable with your process? If it were me, I’d consider slabbing pieces large enough to slice rather than bust up or even acid clean. Doesn’t take much gold content to make a nice piece.

Here's a few pieces I cleaned before and after top is 27.5 grams right bottom 9.5 grams left 7 grams
very interesting texture on those. Ive lost gold on the crystalline pieces from too much wink. part of the problem was I was blasting it with the garden hose because it made it shine really well, that was because I was eroding the gold away. But it tends to loosen up the layers of gold and I did not like that.

I let them soak overnight then a toothbrush to clean the dissolved rock with water in a gold pan catching a lot of micro gold. We try and save it all too hard to find and too valuable to lose.

My son is still finding small specimen pieces when he can get out. I cleaned his last batch 114.5 grams when dry still just raking and swinging the detector. This was several good and extra-long days and a few not so good days but no skunks yet .

Have you tried locating the pocket? There could be a pay pocket beyond your wildest dreams under your nose.

There's several Adit's close by that go in at an angle. my son and friends piled brush in front of the opening to see if animal life is going in or out before they venture inn. Don't want to come face to face with a Bear or Mountain Lion while crawling through a tight passage.

Take some flour or pancake mix and spread some inside the adit where the weather won't get to it. Less work than brush and you'll be able to identify any animal by tracks left, if any.....

These specimens are so thin running a rock saw though then would take away the natural beauty. I like dissolving the rock to expose the gold.

Just an update my son is still finding bits and pieces when he can get out. I have two threads on the same gold, but one is with me trying different methods to extract / recover values. Gold Ore thread not sure if it's going well, I'll keep trying for a while.
