yeah decent weight..

well, i know people say gold doesnt tarnish....Yet Ive found a couple rings that were a little darker than norm.

If that were at the bottom of the lake, and it doesnt have any Green, or Red, or the tell tale signs of Copper Leaching out...You might be in Luck.

its totally worth testing

don't think it's solid gold, but it might have been plated.
doesn't look like there's much plating left though.
still a cool piece of jewelry though.
Nice find.

Looks like tarnished silver piece to me.

Is it marked? Gold does get tarnished but will clean up fairly easily

Nice old piece!

I had a bracelet that was dark tarnished, pretty sure it wasn't real so I put it in lemon juice, cleaned up real nice, it's GP on copper. Brought out a lot of the GP color.

Interesting find, cool! :headbang: :notworthy: My two gold rings each had a dark layer adhering! My salt-water beach solid gold ring was covered by thin skin of iron due to decades of iron leaching near it, this iron skin easily chipped off in small bits when I applied fingernail pressure. My dirt-embankment hollow gold ring was covered with yucky black gunk that was much harder to remove.
Have fun! :cat: Andi
