It has been super wet and swampy where I live. I haven't been out hunting very much, not because of the mud, rather, because of the lip that comes along with muddy shoes. I found a product that has eliminated that lip, enabling my hunting.... Even in muddy conditions. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1422401454.450980.jpg
So far, this stuff has been nothing short of a miracle. Mud will not cling to boots after being treated with this stuff. It does kinda discolor your boots... However, we aren't treating our church shoes. I figured I'd share this product with you guys, and I hope it can help some of you. By the way, I'm not affiliated with rustoleum in any way. It's a great product, introduced to me by a friend. Now I'm introducing it to my friends. OK... Recent finds!!! Hmmm. Looks good. But, are you treating leather boots, or rubber? Is the stuff rigid like an epoxy or flexible?

Quito, I use it on my Muck boots. They are a water proof fabric with thick rubber bottoms. According to the product label it works on most surfaces. Check it out on YouTube. Neverwet is what it's called. It's got epoxy like characteristics yet, it's flexible. Its noticeable once applied but not bothersome. I can't really explain it. Lol! Thanks Eddie! I need to send you a PM.

You found some sweet points! That 2nd one is some nice material and is it a triangle or tip? I'll have to try that stuff out on my old hiking boots...thanks for the tip!

Got some nice finds. On the boot stuff does it block holes in the rubber boots? Mine are chaffing and starting to crack they need some water tight stuff on them.

Thanks guys! Peaches, the second piece is sadly not a triangle. I looked for the other half of it with no luck. In these fields you'll find flakes. If you look around those flakes long enough, eventually you'll find the damaged point that the flakes belong to. 1 out of 100 times I can gather every tiny flake and piece a point together. How a nice tip can survive and its body gets crumbled is a puzzle to me. Rock, thanks for the compliments! The boot stuff is amazing.... Not quite magic though. Hey!!! Where there's a will there's a way, right? Take a bicycle inner tube patch, patch your hole, then spray!! Just kidding you Rock. I hate breaking new boots in. I feel your pain.

Not sure uncle. I just applied it to my boots. After one trip out on squishy ground, it is still holding up. I guess it depends on how bad your stomping grounds are. I'm impressed by this stuff, honestly!

Great finds and great tip! I'm still looking for new sopts to hunt in this area. The boot stuff, on the other hand, will come in handy right away! I think my feet gained about 10 pounds each the other day just from mud. You call it a lip. I call it a pan-- as in cast iron pan.. on each foot... rrr. Thanks ;) Yakker

CapitalT, I got mine at lows. Home Depot has it too. Yakker, when I say lip, I'm talking about the lip I have to hear when I track mud into the house. I know how it feels having 30 pound feet also. It makes you feel like King Kong stomping around. This product prevents the mud build up. No more 30 pound boots.

Well! Well! It looks like you found some mighty fine points there! That looks like some interesting stuff to coat your shoes with. I still have a gal. of pure mink oil that an old mink rancher gave me. It's pretty good stuff to coat your leather shoes to soften them up. If anyone is interested in some give me a holler.

Thanks Digger! I've used Mink oil on leather boots that needed softening. Never straight from the mink, however. The product above reminds me of mercury beads from a broken thermometer. Water beads up, rolls off and leaves no wet spot. Same with mud and other substances. It turns you boots into a Leper. Nothing wants contact with them. Strange stuff.
