Gottit ,

I might suggest you remember that unfortunately it seems drink can manufacturers have gone out of their way to come up with as many sizes, shapes and unfortunately different aluminum alloys for pull tabs that they could think of.

Nickels, pull tabs and gold rings are very close together on the scale, if you descriminate out pulltabs you are also descriminating out many gold rings and gold targets. You may be walking away from a really nice diamond ring target, especially at the beach.

This is why many of us have the "dig all" attitude, if it doesn't null, and I get a good solid signal E to W and N to S then I dig it. I would personally rather dig a hundred pull tabs, then walk away from a single nice gold diamond ring. I have found 3 nice gold, diamond rings so far, all at the beach, and if I had been discriminating out pulltabs I may have found none of them. (I still need to test the stones on one more ring and an earring found this year to see if the stones are diamonds or not)

Good luck and good hunting...........

I know your right !! Guess I need to just dig as you suggested ! Thx's for the advice!

Treasure Hunter is right about all the different styles of pull tabs and disc. them out will disc out 90% of the gold rings. In the sand it is nothing to scoop up the target. In the grass now that is another matter for to dig all pull tabs would make a mess of the grass and get us kicked out of the parks.

thx's for the advice / as always the wisdom is welcome!! dig-on !! gottit!!!!
