Gun part ??

I found this metal detecting in the woods in an area where I've found some coins from the 1800's, fired musket ball, and a couple of 2 ring bullets.

I'm not if it is some type of gun part for a rifle. Any help would be appreciated.

It reminds me of a cable tensioning device.
Kind of like a hand brake on a bicycle or a clutch on a motorcycle.

It is quite heavy, not sure if a handbrake for a bicycle or motorcycle would be that heavy.

IMO it isn't a brake lever because it doesn't have the route for a cable to be snaked through. I looks like a handle was crimped onto the end where I have pointed out in these two photos, the second pic depicts where the handle broke off from:

See if it was a brake lever there would be a channel cut into this area for the cable, I see how it resembles a brake lever too:

I think it is an Elephant head coat hook. The "hole" is where I bet decorative tusks were mounted. the smaller hole looks like an eye hole. Some similar but older than these. Or maybe a curtain rod end.

actually it's so worn, I bet it is something a hand touched alot. maybe its a cane handle. or umbrella handle end.
