nice hafted scrapers. They look like they are made from Edwards Plateau flint

Here is one of my hafted scraper frames. Some, on the bottom row are not hafted scrapers, just thumb or flake scrapers.

A wide variety of flint material, and styes shown here also. Thebes, and MacCorkle hafted scrapers

Here are some hafted scrapers found in Central New York. Five are Onondaga Chert, one appears to be Jaspar. The two stemmed pieces look like re-worked Genesee points; the corner-notched pieces look like re-worked Jack's Reef or Brewertons; and the one side-notched scraper looks like a re-worked Otter Creek, with its bold, C-shaped notches and square tangs - a real oldie!

My question about the two bigger pieces: if the blade tip has been re-worked into a blunt, rounded form, is their any explanation other than 'it was intended for use as a scraper?"

I’ve got one, the first compete tool I ever found. Probably 12 years ago and I could walk to the exact spot I found it today, pulled it out of the side of a cow path next to a big oak.

I was so preoccupied by the base it never occurred to me that I have another hafted scraper. I’ve got it pegged as a holland.

My best Hafted Scraper is this Thebes type. Personal find from Scioto county Ohio.

The smaller one is from the same site.
