I have been getting a mix of Brinks boxes and what I would consider generic boxes from a third party rolling service for over 6 months now. I do between 15 and 20 boxes a week give or take. Both are two tier boxes. See pic. Brinks on bottom and generic box on top.The "generic" boxes are delivered by both Brinks and Garda in my area and do produce a fare amount of silver with a good share of skunks which is to be expected. From the very start of getting both types of boxes I noticed that the brinks rolls where what appeared to me as someones dump rerolled and the boxes are sealed as though they would be straight from brinks and all of the rolls are machined on one end and closed by hand on the other. All the boxes I get are ordered from the banks and not just picked up by chance that a bank that may have a box in the vault of someones box dump. The only problem with my theory of being rerolled is that every once in a while, maybe 1 in 5 boxes I will pull a 40% out of a box and the one end appears to have been closed up by hand not machine. The questions I have are is anyone getting brinks rolls like this and still producing silver? Are all Brinks rolls machine wrapped tightly on both ends? Last but not least, can anyone put a delivery service name to the top box? If anyone would like to post pics of the type of boxes and how they produce for you and the delivery service for those boxes this maybe helpful to everyone here as to how coin is moving though the system and which boxes produce better in different areas.

All of my first 4 half boxes were skunks and looked just like the top box in your picture. The banks that order my boxes get their coin from Brinks, but they all say halves are "special" orders. I don't know if that means that they get them from a separate supplier or what. I have 5 more coming in thursday. I'll let you know how I do. My rolls were all super tight. There is no way someone went through them.

All of my boxes are like this recently. Had a skunk streak of 6 but the last one produced 2 silver proofs and 6 40%.

Here is a pic of some from a box that I recieved a while ago, the whole box looked like this and still shot out some silver, sometimes the machine wraps are just real sloppy. Maverick.

The last 4 or 6 Brinks boxes I have done were real sloppy too.

Thanks for the pics and responses everyone!

Coppercrazy, The rolls in the top box that I get are what I would call generic or 3rd party rolled boxes and are always very tight rolled at both ends and do produce silver. Not sure if Brinks runs out of "brinks" boxes and brings them in from an out source rolling company or not. Good luck on your 5 boxes on Thursday! Let us know how you do.Thanks for posting!

BRChiver, The pic you posted look just like the brinks rolls that are machined on one end and look to be hand rolled or the other end. they look like they produce more then mine have. Did they come from a box like the bottom one in my pic?

Maverick, Did those rolls come from a "generic" box or brinks box. They look like the rolls from the top box. Thanks for the post!

Local coins, Do they look like they have been opened on one end...which rolls were they and did you pull anything good ? Thanks for posting!

Not a generic box, brown Brinks box. Maverick.

I receive these generic boxes from one location services by brinks. I've been trying to figure out why the different box design.

Try saying that 5 times fast. I tripped up on it just reading it in my head.

Brown Brinks box, bown binks box, brown brinks brox, bown binks brox, brown binx brox, nope, can't do it, lol, hh, Maverick.

Stick around maybe we can figure this out......do you pull any silver out of these boxes?

The generic boxes generally are skunk but I have found boxes with silver best being 11 40%

In short, Yes there is silver in the boxes

An update: Well, I picked up 19 boxes yesterday. 8 Brinks and 11 generic boxes. Wouldn't you know it that after starting this thread about all of my Brinks rolls being machined crimped on one end and hand crimped on the other and thinking that they may be someones box dump because they very rarely produce any keepers I now have the answer..........they are not someones box dump! All of the following were Brinks boxes with brinks rolls machine crimped on one end and sloppy hand crimped on the other just like I have been getting for the past 6 months. They finally produced something. Every time I would see the teller bring out these boxes I am thinking, oh great, more smelly boxes :BangHead: So everyone out there, if you have been getting these types of rolls there is hope for something good to be pulled ! I haven't made it though all 19 boxes yet but here's some pics. The pic of the rim is the 76 s proof. Here is the breakdown.
Box 1 1-45 Walker 2-64 1-65 7-67 4-68 3-69
Box 2 3-67 2-68 1-69
Box 3 1-68
Box 4 ------
Box 5 ------
Box 6 ------
Box 7 1-66
Box 8 1-67 1-68 1-76 s proof 40% silver

Doing good there Big Fat, Here's what I got yesterday in one of my boxes from Brinks. The box was sealed shut, first sealed Brinks box I've recieved, I've had plenty of repack dumps, but not in a sealed box. HH, Maverick.

Mine are the same except there are in a yellow striped wrapper. They are always are opened on one end and machine wraped on the other.
