We are still in the driest spell since 1976. (Update; & the driest July on Record since 1935) We are smashing finds out of lumps of rock hard clay. We had a fairly punishing 5 hours rolling about on the lumps. That's why I always recommend a heavy duty full length spade. Many detectorist use small light spades, which will never act as a good walking stick & keep you upright on uneven ground.
Anyways, this has been our 2nd equal worst July since we started proper Records. Not the worst day we have had this year but it's way off what it should be this time of year.

This low yield site isn't producing enough even after this big turn, so we will move on to somewhere new next time.

If it's any consolation, I think you did pretty good:thumbsup:.....PMA will surely get you through the dry spell.
Always Positive, can't help it. We are playing the cards we are dealt as best we can. I'm just being a matter of fact about our performance/productivity. We will keep trying until it improves, I will hold back on holidays until the right timing, & maximise the opportunity once it shows itself. ie. the right site after rain & perfect field conditions.
