Found at a site of a shop or store that was there in late 1800 to early 1900’s
Heavy cast iron, not a pipe. 8 “ long
Rounded tubular top side. Elongated grooved edges. One end has small tiny hole that enters into the piece
leading into a tiny groove. Tried to take clear pictures, hopefully noticeable. Was this off a motor or some type of machine or tractor

I m searching now, nothing is ever easy that I find.

Being heavy cast iron, I'm guessing it is wood stove related.

It's about the right length for a lid lifter but doesn't seem quite right for that purpose.

Hmm not sure, end of piece has a small groove that engraved that leads to a tiny hole that exits the end. As if something went through that end. See picture 1 2 and 6. That dot at end on pic 6 is a hole to the inside. Any other ideas?

I'm thinking the base of an old electric motor tooth it slide to adjust belt tension.

It could possibly be half if an old casting mold.

Looks like a door bolt

That's cool. I think it's a mold, for what or what material was in it I couldn't tell you. but the hole on the end lines up with the groove on the inside to pour something into it. I made silicon molds for the theme parks... Kinda looks like that....It seems like there could be another piece to cover it?

Definitely top piece is missing, thank everyone for inputs, I do search all suggestions👍
