Its been a long time since I got to swing my Beep Stick but today was the 1st in a year!! I was on a property that dates back over 200 years with over 100 acres to hunt. I found this curious thing. It looks like it says PNR and thought it might be a part to an old lock. This was dug on the outskirts of Shippensburg, PA and didn't know if this had something to do with the railroad but I don't recall seeing anything like this on here before. Anybody got any ideas? My Tape measure is at work and I have no scale but this is heavy . Quarter is for size reference.

Your lock isn't a Pennsylvania Railroad lock but rather a brass switch lock from the Philadelphia & Reading Railroad. circa 1842 - 1858

This IS your actual padlock.

It is a "Stuart & Mattson".
