Hello Everyone,

New Guy here from Ft. Lauderdale checking in. I am interested in learning a bit about metal detecting, Both underwater and on terra firma. I have no clue what units to get yet so any input will be gratefully received.

Currently I am in the middle of collecting links and scans of anything that provides a glimpse into Florida's Native populations up until the mid 1700's. Any information you may have would be great. I will make all my research available when compiled.

One last thing. While armchair hunting I found a boulder on an small intercostal island aprox. 13 foot x 9 foot judging by the shadow looks pretty tall. Thought it was strange In fact the islands are a bit strange. Any thoughts?

Guess that could have been three posts but I like to consolidate.
Looking forward to meeting you guys I will be in and out as I am leaving for Costa Rica in the am for a few days.

Welcome KBZ, I would guess those little islands are from dredging.
Yes, spoils islands. You will find them all up and down the intra-coastal waterway. TTC
