Relic Hunting
Hi. I'm an old timer from RI who's hunted points for 50 plus years, the past 20 years with my wife, whose as avid a surface hunter as I've ever known. Here is a frame of stuff we've found in RI over the years, some from fields, some from the shores of Narragansett Bay and it's many coves and inlets.

Welcome aboard, those are very, very nice finds. There are a couple of people from your general area on the forum.

Welcome to T-net. Very nice collection. I didn't know Rhode Island was that productive for artifacts. I'm sure there's a great deal of effort in that frame.

Joe

Welcome to the group. Those are very interesting, I don't guess I ever saw artifacts from Rhode Island before. Those are great if you have any more post them anytime. We would enjoy seeing them.

hello Charl!! and Wife!! and welcome to Tnet and the AIA. forum from Tmodel!! on the eastern highland rim of Tennessee. you are very luckey to have to have a wife that loves hunting artifacts as much or more than you do. that is sure a nice frame of points with that large asortment of types and material. like FD!! said we enjoy all photos of points and tools. Terry

Rhode Island Rocks ! you really have some killer points there ! Nice Nice display ! Keep in touch.

Thanks everyone for your kind welcome :) It's not easy hunting artifacts in RI, but like most anywhere else, it was easier years ago. Very little early stuff hereabouts, but if you can find dirt, you stand a chance of finding a point now and then. I look forward to enjoying Tnet! And tmodel, you're sure right, I am a lucky guy where the Mrs. is concerned. I introduced her to fossil hunting and she loved it. When she tried arrowhead hunting, she was a natural and left me in the dust for awhile there. I honed my own skills having to keep up with her so it all worked out as planned ;D

Char...being from RI can can respect how hard it is to find such a great assortment of type and material. I have not been at it as long as you have but never found some of the types and lithics you have...PM me if you ever want to walk the beach sometime!

Welcome to TNet I too am new but a great bunch of folks and some spectacular finds!

Here is a frame from aroud the bay

Snakeman, nice points, and nice to see someone else from our little neck of the woods. Thanks for the invite! Maybe this Spring we can get together for a hunt somewhere. Charl

always impressed with your finds :icon_thumright:

Thanks, Casper-2! Here are a few closeups. First pic is stuff made of Pennsylvania jasper, Jack's Reef points, then a group of Brewerton's and finally 2 Levanna triangles.
