✅ SOLVED Help ID please

Found in south eastern Pennsylvania farm next to 1873 IHP and broken Crotal bell I found. Reverse is flat and stamped with an “E”. I would just think it’s farm junk except for the letter stamped in the back. Also appears to be broken at the bottom. Someone suggested a sword scabbard tip but it’s hard to believe since is flat on the back and not hollow. TYA!

Please post a side picture w/ the broken end, the overall dimensions (including thickness), and type of metal.

I believe you hit the nail on the head. I looked up musket trigger guard and it came up with 1746 era Brown Bess British trigger guard
