Hello!

New here and to metal detecting, so i could use some help... I found this ring on a farm in Maryland today, not sure what it is (also, hopefully I attached the pictures correctly!)... it appears to have been plated with something, maybe gold? .... and the eagles on both sides make me think it is some sort of military ring.... thoughts?

Looks like a ring that was sold to support the troops. In the 40s

That's a nice ring find, I thinking yours was originally gold plated. :icon_scratch:
A buddy of mine found a similar one in sterling silver a few years ago, he thought it was WWII as well.
I tried to expand the back shot to see if this was a makers mark.

Here are a couple of pics of the ring my buddy found for comparison.

Thanks everyone! I contacted a collector of old military rings and he said he was almost certain it was a military ring due to the eagles on the side. He had many old military rings with eagles on the side, but he wasn't too sure it was from WWII, could be older. It was found near the foundation of a home from the early 1800s, but either way it was a great find!
