I found this a year+ ago, and happened to stumble onto my photos of it. Since you people (ya'll!) have been spot-on with other IDs, I thought I'd throw this one out there, too.
Because it's stored away, I won't be able to get any more photos, so I hope these are adequate. (My wife insisted I was too cluttered- Doh!)
Thanks in advance for any input, as it certainly stumped me!

Is there a spot where a tool could have turned that bolt from like a spot a screw driver could have gone into? If so I would say it is some type of clamp for a cable.

It's about 2" long. Not doubting anyone's opinion, but I had originally entertained the idea that it might be a part from a crude telegraph device. I don't think so, as IHDK if that's even possible...

I would like to know more about the bolt and square nut portion.....and whether the part above it is a rivet of sorts. Seems to me that it attached to something solid at the bolt(possible cut or rusted off) and the rivet attached it to leather or heavy cloth. If it were unfolded, we could get a better look. You can see the patina changed where it had folded in a few spots, that's why I think it is something different like a type of hinge.

Honestly, that’s what popped into my head after I studied it for a minute.

So i’m seeing what you’re seeing too.

But I am no expert and have a pretty good imagination, for what it‘s worth.
