Help with I.D. Colonial?

Looking for help as to what this may be, was recovered at a early 1800s site where I also recovered the Prussian token/button I posted about a month ago….. the back is plain, no markings…thanks in advance!!!!

The ID is correct. It's probably early to mid 19th century.

Can you give it an approximate age?

Looks early 1800s to me. Unusual shape for a padlock cover but thats what it is.
